Service Objectives

The provision of application hosting services is a recently developed activity, resulting from the needs that have emerged in many organizations regarding the sharing of applications accessible through remote connectivity. To meet these needs, GESINF provides its own server infrastructure, connectivity equipment, and the services required for the complete maintenance and management of the applications involved, whether they operate in an HTML/Web environment (ASP) or in a teleprocessing environment (Microsoft RDP). This service, activated both for central administrations located outside the municipality of Rome and for peripheral organizations, provides the following benefits:

• Drastic reduction of system start-up times
• Elimination of issues, risks, and costs related to the acquisition of hardware and basic software.
• Elimination of the need for qualified internal personnel capable of managing equipment and software, both system and application software.
• Guarantee of constant updating of the software used.
• Elimination of costs related to server updates, backup copies, and in general all ordinary and extraordinary system maintenance activities.
• Ability to use clients without particular technical requirements, except those necessary for remote connection.
• Elimination of the need to install software on client devices.

In the standard contractual solution proposed, all the aspects mentioned above are delegated to GESINF.
