The TEAM application platform is an integrated set of process rules, structures, and methods for the processing and representation of administrative-accounting data, incorporated into a single system for business automation, which constitutes the information layer on which accounting and non-accounting applications are based. The objective of its creators was to include in TEAM not only all the information and process rules necessary to achieve the global management system, making information available wherever it is needed, but also to provide a predefined standard for the processing and representation of such information, in order to make it available in the required form and location. The result is the overcoming of traditional concepts of relational databases and modular software, namely the creation of an immediately usable IT infrastructure, acting as a repository of information, workflow rules, and tools required by users for the evolution of their administrative management systems, with extensive adaptability to different organizational environments.

To make all this possible, the TEAM platform was designed according to a threefold nature: public-sector financial accounting, business-oriented economic and asset accounting, and analytical accounting. The real strength of the platform lies precisely in this threefold nature, which allows each transaction to be viewed and processed under the three different accounting frameworks, while simultaneously supporting management control requirements.
Today the TEAM platform is used within three distinct management platforms, each targeted at a specific sector.

To date, TEAM, in its various implementations, is used by dozens of public administrations, privatized companies, and Non-Profit organizations, achieving outstanding results in terms of user satisfaction, process standardization, and the ability to meet the various requirements of planning, management, and control.

TEAM is a complete information system based on an RDBMS Client/Server database, designed for use on a local or remote network system. The term TEAM identifies both the data structure, the relationships, and the application logic underlying them, as well as the user interface designed to make this infrastructure efficiently available to users.
In this sense, within the TEAM application platform, integration is not limited to the information contained in the system, but extends to the processes and tools used by the user, based on the following principles:

• Single Database shared by the various accounting and non-accounting applications.
• Universality of Relationships and Process Rules for all information contained in the system. These rules, embedded within the system itself, maintain their consistency with respect to the accounting framework that interprets them and the module that uses them.
• Standardization of User Interface Tools, provided by the platform and used by the various applications.

Furthermore, thanks to the design and development technologies adopted, TEAM applications offer significant advantages in terms of performance, maintenance, and evolution. In particular, compared to other types of solutions, they provide one or more of the following advantages:

• They easily evolve together with the technology used, since every new function is immediately made available to all affected modules.
• They are fast and reliable, thanks to client/server access technology (multi-tier stand-alone).
• They are extremely flexible and customizable, since modules are assembled using the resources provided by the platform itself.

The official provisions and recommendations regarding public accounting and administration, issued in recent years, have gradually introduced into the administrations concerned the typical concepts of privately managed companies, adding the principles of economic and asset accounting and analytical accounting to the traditional financial accounting system. The objective was, and still is, to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative action, through the introduction of analysis and planning techniques aimed at optimizing costs and increasing the overall performance of management.
The TEAM Government platform, designed to meet the modernization requirements of public administrations, both in management and technological terms, fully incorporates the needs arising from the adoption of the new guidelines, becoming on the one hand the ideal tool to enable immediate compliance for administrations affected by the new directives, and on the other a user-friendly platform to guide them, in a sustainable manner, towards effective managerial management of the public organization.
Modernization is often interpreted as the need to revise the entire process of creation and analysis of administrative and accounting information, introducing radical changes from both a conceptual and operational perspective. When, in 2003, the National Sports Federations were transformed into non-profit organizations, the new management requirements led to the creation of a specific platform based on the principles of planning and control from an economic and asset management perspective. The study carried out jointly with one of the leading international consulting companies led to the creation of TEAM No Profit, currently used by more than 30 NSFs under the name TEAM FSN.
TEAM NP includes all the capabilities deriving from the adoption of the TEAM platform, creating a complete management system designed for non-profit organizations, where strategic planning, authorization and control workflows, and reporting capabilities across the various aspects of economic and financial management play an important role. The success of the initiative led to the creation of a broader project aimed at all non-profit organizations, for which traditional business management systems do not represent a real solution.
